Kylie Jenner Lip Kits on tan skin

So I see many mixed reviews about Kylie Jenner’s lip kits. I decided to try them for myself and give my honest opinion. I am not by any means a Kylie Jenner fan, but if she has a good product, I will definitely support it.

It’s hard to find swatches and reviews on what certain colors look like on tan or medium skin. So, I’ll post a few pics or check out the video below to see what each color I have looks like on medium skin tone.

I purchased lip kits in Pumpkin and Merry and bought the Kandy K liquid lipstick.

My skin tone is kind of a little bit darker than tan. I like to consider my skin tone as “medium”.

Out of all three colors my favorite has to be Merry, second favorite is Pumpkin and lastly is Kandy K.

Merry seems to be like a brick red, pumpkin is like an orange & Kandy K is a nude with a very slight pink undertone (well in my opinion).

They seem to wear well throughout the day and were pretty hard to remove.

I was lucky enough to order these kits when there was a sale going on. I bought two lip kits and a liquid lipstick for around $47 (including shipping and tax). Not bad, I got “Merry” for free and paid for Pumpkin and Kandy K.

I tried using Lip balm under Kandy K because I felt it made my lips look very dry. Definitely not the best move, my lips felt sticky and after a while felt clumps of the liquid lipstick on my lips. I’ll keep trying other moisturizers under the liquid lipstick so they don’t look so dry. The lines of my lips were very noticeable, not sure if it was because the color or because I didn’t use the lip liner under for Kandy K.

Throughout eating and drinking, I definitely felt the lip kits wore pretty well. I didn’t have to reapply but I did stay away from oily food.

I feel it’s hit or miss with these. The colors are awesome, but I feel some colors just look better on your lips than others. I do think they are good quality so I give her that. The price really isn’t that bad either. I hear a lot of complaints that they are too expensive. In all honesty, a Single matte lipstick cost $17. I usually pay about $20-$25 for a liquid lipstick so it’s not bad. What makes it pricey is the shipping šŸ˜’. I mean seriously NO ONE likes to pay for shipping (hint hint Kylie) but I can’t complain because I got free shipping and a free lip kit. Hoping to see more of these specials throughout the year. If there are more specials, I would definitely purchase more of her products.

Have you tried any of Kylie’s products? If so, what were your thoughts? Leave a comment and let me know!
